What's the character limit for Twitter/X?▾
Twitter/X allows 280 characters per post for free accounts. Premium subscribers can write up to 25,000 characters. URLs count as 23 characters regardless of length. We count to 280 for safety.
How long can an Instagram bio be?▾
150 characters maximum. Captions can be much longer (2,200 characters), but only the first 125 or so display before the "more" cutoff — keep your hook in the first sentence.
What's a good meta description length?▾
Aim for 150-160 characters. Google truncates around 155-160 on desktop and ~120 on mobile. Use the limit fully — every character is potential SEO real estate. Title tags should be 50-60 characters.
How does this count emojis?▾
We count visible characters — including emojis as 1 character each (matching how Twitter/X displays them). Note: in raw bytes, an emoji is often 4 bytes, but for character limits, each emoji = 1.
Why two character counts?▾
Some platforms count code points (unicode characters); others count UTF-16 code units (which splits some emojis into two). We show both — most platforms use code points (the larger of the two for emojis).
