When to use a name picker wheel
Teachers use it to pick students fairly. Team leads use it to choose who goes first in standup. Couples use it to settle "what should we have for dinner?". Streamers use it for raffles and giveaways. The use cases are endless once you have a fast, fair, free picker.
Our wheel uses cryptographic randomness, saves your list in your browser, and works offline once loaded. No account, no ads above the fold, no hidden limits.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the wheel really random?▾
Yes. We use the browser's cryptographically secure random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues). The visual spin is just animation — the result is determined the moment you click spin.
Can I save my wheel?▾
Your list is automatically saved to your browser's localStorage and persists across visits on the same device. Use the "Share" button to copy a URL with the names encoded — anyone who opens it sees the same wheel.
Can I remove names after they're picked?▾
Yes — toggle "Remove winner after spin" to do automatic eliminations (great for team standups, raffles, or single-winner draws). Names removed this way come back when you reload or click reset.
How many names can I add?▾
There's no hard limit. The wheel renders cleanly up to about 200 entries; beyond that, segment labels become hard to read. For huge lists, consider using categories or letting the random pick speak for itself.
Does this work on mobile?▾
Yes. The wheel resizes to your screen and spins smoothly on phones and tablets. Tap the wheel or the "Spin" button to start.
