How it works

We check every word in our 275,000-entry English dictionary against the letters you provide. A word counts if its letters can be matched against your available pool — using each letter at most as many times as you have it. Wildcards (? or *) match any letter.

Results are sorted longest-first, then by Scrabble score, then alphabetically. We cap output at 500 results to keep the page fast — narrow with the "starts with", "ends with", or "contains" filters if you need more specificity.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I unscramble letters into words?
Type your available letters in the box above. We instantly check our 275,000-word dictionary and return every valid English word you can form, sorted longest first with Scrabble score. Use "?" or "*" to represent blank/wildcard tiles.
What dictionary does this use?
We use an-array-of-english-words, a permissively-licensed open-source word list with ~275,000 entries — covering common English plus most words found in standard Scrabble (TWL) and Words With Friends dictionaries.
Can I filter for words that start or end with a letter?
Yes — use the "Starts with", "Ends with", and "Contains" fields to narrow results. Useful for crossword clues like "5-letter word starting with K and ending in N".
Why are some words missing?
Our dictionary is comprehensive but not infallible. Very obscure plurals, proper nouns, abbreviations, and recent slang may not appear. If a word is in the official Scrabble dictionary but missing here, please let us know.
How does Scrabble scoring work?
Each letter has a fixed point value (A=1, Q=10, Z=10, etc.). The score for a word is the sum of its letter values, before any board bonuses (double letter, triple word, etc.). Our results are sorted by length first, then by raw Scrabble score.
